Stewardship
We live our Purpose through Stewardship.
Stewardship is the devout investment or use of money, time and ability. In biblical times, a steward supervised a household or an estate. Today, as God’s children, we deem God the source of all we have, seek to hold it in trust for God and desire to be “good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” (1 Peter 4:10a) Source: Sharing God’s Gifts Glossary of United Methodist Terms
We practice three paths of stewardship.
- Time-we give of our time by volunteering in our church and our community.
- Talents-we share our talents for technology, music, organization, teaching, leading and finances with our church and each other.
- Treasures-we share our financial resources with our offerings and have recently begun the option of on-line giving.
Giving is an important aspect of Christian Life. There are many ways to give. In Acts 20:35 the words of the Lord Jesus tell us ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive. (NLT)
Anyone who would like to give online is welcome to do so through our church website. The system makes it easy to transfer money from a bank account, debit card, or through Paypal. One-time gifts and recurring withdrawals can both be set up. Gifts can be designated to the general fund or a specific church project.
We will continue to take an offering during the service for people who prefer to give by cash or check. For members who would rather transfer money electronically, giving through the church website is now a safe and secure option.
